Read this before first use
- Never open or disassemble the sensors. There are no user-serviceable parts inside, and opening them voids the warranty.
- Protect the sensors from water and moisture. They are not waterproof. If they get damp, let them dry fully at room temperature before using them again.
- Handle the plastic case with care. Use only the Uši mount with the lyre for mounting — other mounts may damage the case.
- Mind the temperature. Operate only between −10 °C and +55 °C, and don't leave the sensors in direct sun or a parked car.
- Protect your hearing. Electromagnetic signals can jump in level without warning — when monitoring on headphones, start at low volume and raise it gradually.
Will it work with my setup?
Elektrouši are fully passive — they generate a faint signal that needs a microphone preamplifier. Two ways to use them: plug them into the input of an Elektrosluch 2, 3, or 3+ for handheld listening with an extended sensing range, or connect them straight to the 3.5 mm stereo microphone input of a portable recorder. Plug-in power inputs are fine — the sensors don't need the power, but it does them no harm.
Quick start
- Plug Elektrouši into the Elektrosluch input, or into your recorder's 3.5 mm stereo mic input.
- Set your gain: start low and raise it until the fields you're exploring sit at a healthy level.
- Move the sensors close to electronics, power supplies, motors, displays, or transit infrastructure — the electromagnetic fields around them are the signal. Being a stereo pair, the two sensors can frame a source from different sides for a spatial image.
Mounting
Elektrouši can be mounted with the Uši mount — but only the lyre version, and even then take care not to stress the plastic case. See the FAQ.
Elektrouši listen to the inaudible electromagnetic side of the world: electronics, power lines, motors, displays, and transit systems. Compared to Priezor's ambient response, Elektrouši are more directional — better suited to pinpointing and framing individual sources — and, like Elektrosluch, they work in stereo. Paired with an Elektrosluch they extend its reach into spots the device itself can't go; paired with a recorder they turn any plug-in-power input into an electromagnetic stereo rig. See the differences between the electromagnetic instruments.
Storage. Keep the sensors in a closed case or pouch, away from dust and humidity. Coil the cable loosely — sharp bends shorten its life.
Cleaning. Wipe the plastic bodies with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Never use solvents.
Moisture. The sensors are not waterproof. If they get damp, let them dry fully at room temperature before the next session.
- No sound, or a very quiet signal → Elektrouši are passive and output a faint, microphone-level signal: make sure you're in a mic (not line) input and give it generous gain.
- Only one channel records → check the minijack is fully seated and the recorder isn't set to mono.
- Hum and buzz everywhere → that's not a fault — mains hum and switching noise are the electromagnetic landscape the sensors are built to reveal. Move the sensors, and the character changes.

Warranty. LOM products are covered by a two-year guarantee beginning on the date of purchase. Keep your proof of purchase — it is required for any claim. Within the guarantee period we will, at our discretion, repair or replace products with defects in materials or workmanship. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, mechanical damage, moisture, unauthorized modification, or use with third-party cables or power sources outside the published specifications. Destructive opening of certain parts of the product voids the warranty.
Repairs. Before sending anything back, contact us with a description of the problem and your proof of purchase — many issues can be resolved without shipping.
Declaration of conformity. This product complies with the applicable European directives, including EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, when used with cables and accessories supplied by LOM.
Disposal. Do not dispose of the product in household waste. Like all electrical and electronic equipment, it must be handed in at a WEEE collection point at the end of its life.
